What we collect
When you send a job request, we collect your name, email address, phone number, the physical property address or location details you provide, job answers and description, and any photos you choose to upload. If you select a LINZ-derived address, Tradir stores a structured copy of that address, its LINZ address reference, locality, territorial authority and the coordinates of the LINZ address point. We also record the consent wording and time accepted.
A LINZ address point is not a building entrance, property boundary, legal parcel or certified postal delivery point. LINZ physical-address data does not tell Tradir who owns or occupies a property. Homeowner details are provided separately by the person submitting the request.
The website uses a random first-party session identifier to measure public landing, enquiry-start and submission stages. It may record the public page, coarse device class, referral and campaign parameters. This measurement does not use fingerprinting, raw analytics IP addresses, advertising identifiers or third-party analytics.
Why we collect it
We use this information to review your request, contact you about it, find businesses that may suit the work, prepare your private shortlist, make introductions you authorise, operate the service and investigate misuse or faults. You do not have to submit a request, but Tradir cannot provide matching without the required details.
What businesses receive
While checking interest, Tradir may share a limited job summary such as the service, general location, answers, description and whether photos are available. That outreach summary is intended not to identify you and excludes your name, phone number, email and street address.
If you select a shortlisted business to request a quote, Tradir may then release the contact and job details needed for that introduction. Other shortlisted or declined businesses do not receive your contact details through this process.
Storage, service providers and disclosure
Address suggestions are searched in Tradir’s local address index. Normal typed address queries are not sent to LINZ. Tradir stores request records in its application database and optional photos in private application storage. Hosting, email, logging or other technical providers may process information for Tradir when those services are configured. We may also disclose information where required or permitted by law.
No internet service can promise absolute security. Tradir uses access controls and application safeguards appropriate to the current service, and reviews incidents when they arise.
How long we keep it
Tradir keeps personal information only while it has a lawful operational or legal reason. Retention depends on the type of record and the progress of the request. Expired records and private files are removed or anonymised through controlled retention processes. Current configured periods are Private Request Hub links for 90 days; unqualified requests for 90 days; withdrawn requests for 90 days; completed requests for 365 days; private photos for 365 days; unlinked website measurement records for 90 days; privacy exports for 48 hours after they are prepared.
Your rights
You may ask whether Tradir holds personal information about you, request a copy, ask for a correction, or request deletion or anonymisation. Some information may need to be retained where there is a lawful operational or legal reason. If a correction is not made, you may ask for a statement of correction to be attached where the Privacy Act provides. You can make a request from your private Request Hub, use the privacy request form, or email us.
